UP and Gujarat Governor given additional charge of Rajasthan and Goa Wed, 06 Aug 2014 Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and Governor of Gujarat Om Prakash Kohli on 5 August 2014 were given additional charge of Rajasthan and Goa, respectively. Ram Naik, the Uttar Pradesh Governor was given the additional charge of Rajasthan after Margaret Alva, demitted the office after completion of her tenure on 5 August 2014. Om Prakash Kohli, the Governor of Gujarat was given the additional charge after Bharat Vir Wanchoo on 4 July 2014 resigned as the Governor of Goa. Wanchoo resigned from the office after being quizzed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as a witness in connection with the alleged irregularities in the 12 helicopters deal meant for VVIPs from AgustaWestland. Naik and Kohli will perform the duty of Rajasthan and Goa respectively, until regular arrangements for the office of the Governor of Rajasthan is made.
