UP govt responsible for conversion incidents:BJP Lucknow | Monday, Questioning how Prime Minister Narendra Modi was responsible for conversions in Uttar Pradesh, the state unit of BJP today said that it was Uttar Pradesh government that had led to such a fuss in the country. It is high time that state government should realise its responsibility and act accordingly. If anything happens in the state it is the responsibility of the state government to control the crime, BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said in a statement issued here. He was reacting to the allegations of senior Samajwadi Party minister Shivpal Singh Yadav who had said that conversions are being carried out in UP under directions of Central Government. If any wrong is committed in Uttar Pradesh the state should take action and arrest the culprits. Why it should wait for media to make a hue and cry. The biggest point is what the local intelligence Unit of the state was doing when Muslims were allegedly converted into Hindus. Action should have been taken there and then,Mr Pathak said. He said it has become a ritual for the state government to blame others for their own fault. This is why the state has run into a chaos. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his team is not ready to take responsibilities and issue statements to fool people, BJP spokesman said. Mr Pathak said that so-called unity shown by the opposition leaders in New delhi was farce. They will crumble like house of cards, he said. UNI
