UPDATE - Detectives Make Arrest in Mail Theft and Organized Fraud UPDATE Additional Arrest Made As noted in the original Media Release, three of the transactions show two of Basaldua’s associates using the credit card to make purchases at local gas stations. Jamie Lovett was identified by detectives as one of the suspects. Detective Dustin Mormando made contact with a witness who was with Jamie Lovett and Indalesio Basaldua on the evening in question. The witness provided detectives with a sworn statement, advising that he witnessed Lovett make four of the fraudulent transactions. On 02-04-14, District One patrol deputies located Lovett at 715 Oakdale Avenue in Brooksville and placed him under arrest. Detective Dustin Mormando responded to the Hernando County Detention Center to interview Lovett regarding this case. Lovett admitted to going out with Basaldua to steal mail and then using the stolen credit card in question. Lovett also admitted to forging James Rutherford’s signature on one of the credit card receipts. Mormando charged Jamie Louis Lovett W/M DOB/07-19-1977 with Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card and Forgery of a Credit Card Receipt.
