UPDATE - This will be long but it is the only time I have had to update and I dont want to forget anything. Read on if interested. I want to start off by thanking my amazing family and friends for coming over this morning and helping in the mammoth task of moving stuff out of the backyard and into the garage so we could try and salvage what we could. Tiffany Albert Clark, so amazing to see you again after a few years and thanks for the awesome help - Spencer too! Susan Barolin Maher - of course you get the hugest thanks...you are the best mom ever. Casey Marie Ricks - Love you, sister! Thank you for working so hard and helping get it done. Carrie Butikofer - you were amazing in organizing the garage and thank you to you and James for helping today - so much gratitude, I cannot express it. Steve Pace & Corrinne Pace - you guys embody what friendship is all about. I am so blessed to have you guys in our lives. Steve Chaconas - you are the awesomest Captain this side of the Potomac! Thanks for the humor, advice and hard work. We got so much done in 4 hours and it left me with time to go and celebrate Kristen Anderson and her gorgeous twins who turned 1 today. I then came home and kept working until now. I have been very carefully saving so many photos and letters from people through the years. I am hopeful a lot can be saved, but there is a lot that cant be saved. I lost the only photo of my grandfather when he was young that I had. I am hoping that it can be restored but I am not sure. A photo of my grandmother was damaged but not ruined, thank goodness (not that grandfathers wife). I am feeling a little sick to my stomach as I realize all the photos that have gotten ruined. I have also realized that photo printing is not equal and that the worst photo printing was between 1998 and 2004. Those photos just wash away and you cant even tell what they once were. So disappointing. An awesome thing happened today to add to the list of blessings we have been getting. A couple stopped by thinking we were having a yard sale. It did look that way with all my stuff laying in the driveway for a while, while I sorted through it. We chatted and told them what had happened. They seemed genuinely empathetic and nice. We found out they were neighbors. They came by again later while I was out and told Lorne they were bringing us dinner. They came by with a delicious dinner, warm and ready to eat (dont worry, Corrinne, we will eat yours for lunch tomorrow!) and offered to help us in any way they could, including taking the girls to the pool. Indeed, God watches over us and continues to send angels to help us and lift our spirits. I cannot tell you how amazing they are. Thank you, John Toniolli and Penny Anes-Toniolli, we are so happy to meet you and call you our new friends. Thanks to the rest of you who continue to share the gofundme and have donated and have sent messages and phone calls and all the wonderful things you do for us. We are truly humbled and undeserving but oh so grateful.
