UPDATE- Mia is still not standing up or walking correctly and is acting strange (holding her head tilted to one side). Its possible that she had a neurological event because she lost so much blood after the first surgery. I hope thats not the case but all of her anesthesia should be long gone at this point. We are going back to the vet to let them reexamine her today. She also no milk (probably due to all the trauma my sweet girl has gone through). I am sitting with her multiple times a day to let the puppies try to nurse but they are quickly frustrated that there is only drops there and she does not like them pushing her sore tummy. She hasnt bonded with them and wont clean them so sadly I cant leave them with her. They are being bottle fed and are comfy in their warm cozy homemade incubator. Please continue to keep us all in your thoughts. Sadly we lost Elsa last night. I went to feed them and I always feed her first as she was the poorest eater. She was warm but limp and barely breathing. She was still pink. I gave her rescue breathing and drove to the closest vet (2 miles away). If I stopped rescue breathing she would turn blue quickly. They worked on her for almost 2 hours. IV, fluids glucose, oxygen - as soon as them would stop stimulating her - she would turn blue. She also couldnt regulate her body temperature. She was already 93 when we reached the vet and she was very warm when I took her out to feed her. They did all they could but she just couldnt hang on. I suspect she was the one with the low heart rate going into surgery - she was never as active as the other 2 pups and had a lot of trouble eating. This has been very hard on me and my little girls who dont understand all of yet so please keep us in your thoughts too. I will update after our appointment today about Mia. - Lisa Liz Blakeney Blackmon Paula Langford Karen Caulder Joiner Karen Ann Coker Kimberly Stammire Cockrell Mindy Price Keisler Quynh-Nhu Pham Daren Watson Stacy Culbreath Christine Zois
