UPDATE: 1) Yesterday I received an email from Associate Civil Engineer Witek (MWRD) requesting my contact number so we can discuss our smaller scale flood relief projects :) 2) Yesterday I received an email reply from State Rep Davis office indicating that the August Midlothian Town Hall Flood meeting date has not been confirmed yet. 3) On July 15th,14 I spoke with Scott FEMA / CRS Technical Coordinator. Midlothian is not showing up on the list which means we have not had our CAV (Community Assistance Visit). FEMA refers to DNR who does the visit, paperwork and inspection to see if Midlothian is NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) compliant. Our Floodlothian group has been asking our officials to pursue this for over a year. In order for our residents to participate or qualify for a reduction in flood insurance rates this is VITAL. In light of the recent damages (8 floods in 9 weeks) we NEED this to move along. We also do NOT qualify for assistance dollars or grants that we desperately need without raising our standards in the CRS program. SINK OR SWIM... :( what are we waiting for? 4) Kudos to our Supt. of Public Works Joe! We are grateful for his storm water relief efforts!
