UPDATE: 11/11 10:30 Dad is opening his eyes this morning and has corneal reflexes (which he didnt yesterday). Although he is still not tracking with his eyes, this is great improvement! He is also much more active, using his left leg to try and push himself up in bed and reposition. He immediately reached up to pull his ET tube out whenever his left hand is unrestrained. The nurse practitioner was just here and says she is encouraged by the trend toward improvement and has a new plan for today: •Wean him off the Cardene (IV blood pressure medication) and start him on his home medications via his NG tube. •Change his vent settings to CPAP so that he is in charge of breathing and not a machine. •Use morphine for pain relief and intermittent sedation as opposed to continuous sedation which will mask changes in activity. •Stop the continuous insulin drip and only use insulin as needed. •They will order another CT scan for the morning and expect to see continued improvement. GOD IS GOOD, YALL!!
