UPDATE: And here is Becky with her son Lil Zar. They have never been separated, and whilst initially we had to milk her to avoid mastitis, we have now stopped since her yield has adjusted to having enough just for her baby. Lil Zar is now over 8 weeks old, and was born here and never left his Mothers side. We took her in with only 8 weeks to go til calving, and she is a doting Mum and just loves being with her Son. The Father is an A2 Guernsey, and we have a home for Lil Zar once he is 6 months old. Becky initially was so protective of her Son, and we wondered if she feared him being taken away as with previous calves. However, she now knows he is with her to stay, and trusts us around him completely. Such a joy to see them together. Both doing really well, and they dote on each other. He is able to feed ad lib from his Mother day and night, and is doing extremely well, and now nibbling hay and moozli :)
