UPDATE: Arnold is Home! The happy, little dog who stole our hearts at the Fullington bus station yesterday has gone home. It’s always great to reunite an owner with a missing pet but Arnold’s reaction when his owner walked in was priceless. Thank you CP Vets for finding his chip and tracking him back to the shelter in Denver, Colorado where Arnold was adopted. Thank you State College Borough Police for helping us connect with the owner. And a huge thank you to Cory and to Jess, from Fullington, who found Arnold yesterday and kept him safe and loved. And to Jess’s family who welcomed Arnold into their home. You are the best. Arnold’s story is a perfect example of the disconnect we encounter ALL the time when it comes to microchips. The owner thought the shelter registered the chip in his name when he was adopted and the shelter thought the chip would be registered by the owner. More than 50% of all microchips are never registered. Make the call and verify that your pet’s chip is registered. Arnold’s owner almost learned this lesson the hard way. Arnold will get a new collar, with ID tags today, and the microchip company will be getting a call. Thank you everyone!!
