UPDATE BAF2 Student body of the University of Zululand, the office of the administrator has noted the continuous attacks which have been directed to it and further understands that it is due to the confusion surrounding the well-being of students on who will speak on their behalf. The office of the Administrator would like to assure all students and reaffirm that all issues from the previous SRC to the new ones that have recently arose, will be handled by the office without prejudice. On Monday the 10th of November 2014, the office of the administrator had a meeting with the delegation of NSFAS from Cape Town regarding the number of issues that university of Zululand students are facing and serious decisions were taken. Some of the decisions that were taken are as follows: •Students who are NSFAS holders in 2015 will be allowed to register irrespective of their outstanding debt. •Students who will be first time entering will be allowed to register with NSFAS provided their meet the requirements stipulated in the NSFAS policy. •2015 Final year students who resident off-campus will be allowed to claim their accommodation and transportation allowance. •Students who are NSFAS holders with disability will be allowed to purchase laptops at Bookshop. •NSFAS allocation will increase by 6% for all Students. •Students who are NSFAS holders will receive their results. The office of the Administrator has noted the rumors and misleading information pertaining 2015 registration fee. The office of the Administrator would like to assure all students and reaffirm that fee increment will never be an option. Today the office of the Administrator held a meeting regarding 2015 fees and progressive decisions were taken. The office has ensured that: •Full Time – Tuition only (NON-Res) including bookshop registration fee R3500 similar to last year’s. •Full Time – Residence Entrance including bookshop registration fee R5000 similar to last year’s •Full Time – Post Graduate registration fee R2500 similar to last year’s •Part Time – Undergraduates registration fee R 2500 similar to last year’s •Part – Time – Postgraduates registration fee R 1300 similar to last year’s Lastly, student who have reserved accommodation are reminded to settle their debts on the 31st of December 2014. Those who were not able to book will be afforded a similar process during the registration period.
