UPDATE: FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- One person is dead and another is critically injured following a motorcycle crash. According to the Washington County Sheriffs Offices preliminary investigation, 46-year-old Michael Rogers was driving the motorcycle north on Wilson Hollow Road at an excessive speed. The motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and went airborne, striking a tree. Rogers was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center in critical condition. 33-year-old Amanda Moore of Fayetteville was pronounced dead at the scene. Moores body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine cause of death. The investigation is continuing. ORIGINAL STORY: According to the Washington County Sheriffs Office, they received a report of the accident at 4:26 p.m. on Saturday. It happened on Wilson Hollow Road, just north of the Tilly Willy Bridge. Central EMS initially reported they were responding to a call where two victims, a male and female, were critically injured. One man we spoke to at the scene said he performed CPR on one of the victims. Sheriffs deputies on scene confirmed one fatality. The other person was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center by Central EMS in critical condition. Emergency crews tell us no other vehicles were involved. A post on the Washington County Sheriffs Office Facebook page stated the Washington County coroner and an accident reconstruction expert are on scene. The investigation is continuing and we will update with any new information.
