UPDATE Fri May 30/14 3pmET A few isolated daytime showers across Trinidad today. Radar is also picking up on a few showers moving away from St Lucia at this time, and a few others over the waters near Barbados. Piarco Int AIrport Trinidad has once again come up on the short end of the stick, prelim. figures show just 1.3mm of rain has fallen at this location through 2pm today (months total now 23.2mm, still well short of 36.8mm of May 1995, the current driest May on record). Elsewhere, just 1mm at Hewannora AIrport St Lucia today, but 10mm has been measured at Vigie AIrport St Lucia, and 4mm at Arnos Vale St Vincent. LeLamentin Martinique received 15mm. There is some moisture around, but evidently something else is missing so far this season. Another tropical wave is just 300 miles SE of the Trinidad/Tobago area this afternoon, but most of the activity is being supressed to the south of Lat 8N due, perhaps in part to dry air just north of this wave in association with Saharan Dust.
