UPDATE ... Good Monday morning everyone. I received a call from a gentleman asking why we had no emergency site set up and although its the only call re that it warrants an answer: the mariners Center has been and continues to be open for those with no power who need to shower. As for food, because everyone has been advised that in a storm we must each be prepared for at least 72 hours without power, that would include food, water etc. its summer and hot meals are not necessary. Restaurants and food stores were not closed for long, landlines and cell phones worked and pharmacies deliver prescriptions to patients. Had this been a winter storm where we were paralyzed and everything closed down different measures would have been taken. The YMCA was also open for showers and restaurants were offering free coffee... But most if all neighbours and friends were checking on each other. While this has been an inconvenience for many, and we most certainly understand and respect that, we were not in a state of emergency and therefore responded accordingly. I hope this helps with some questions!! Slowly getting back to normal.
