UPDATE: I dont even know where to begin. Jerome and I are overwhelmed by Gods tremendous mercy. Our day started talking on the balcony with one of our African sons Gabriel. Hes listened to the whole New Testament on the proclaimer. We had the best discussion about all God has shown Him thru the Scriptures. His Word is the foundation we are building our lives on. It is what is binding us together in unity. We spent time teaching Isatu the proper amounts to feed Sampson and advice on how to care for him more properly. We got to take toothpaste and letters to the kids at the orphanage. To see their happy faces because people care is just about the most precious thing on the planet. I watched some of the girls practice a dance routine for worship on Sunday. They prayed when they were finished. Its not a performance for them. Its truly because they want to glorify God thru their talent. Jerome played soccer with the boys. I love watching him play with our sons that we love. Key relationships with children we love have been healed and restored. There is so much joy at the orphanage!!!! More new children were sponsored. This is the part that blows me away.... We had a desire to do outreaches while we lived here. You all donated hundreds and hundreds of items of clothing and shoes that went on a container that we had shipped here while we were living in country. We also had 7,000 bibles sent. We intended on using these for monthly outreaches. We could never raise enough money for these while we were here. BUT NOW in this dark hour you are giving because God is leading these people to see His glory! And by Gods grace we just bought 150 bags of rice! I watched the biggest truck of rice Ive ever seen pull up at the orphanage tonight. I thought I would burst out in tears right there! Bags and bags and BAGS of clothes and shoes were unloaded from the container and passed out to the kids and set aside to give to the communities with the rice. Oh the joy these kids had over used clothing! At 9:00am tomorrow Jerome and pastor are delivering rice, medicine, clothes and shoes to our neighborhood, an amputee village and a polio village. They are going to give a talk on Ebola awareness AND preach the gospel!!! Another wire is coming with more money for more rice!!!! That means more outreaches and more people seeing and hearing of Jesus Christ as Savior! We keep saying over and over to each other...this is sooooo unbelievable! We are watching such an incredible move of the Holy Spirit!!!! Pray! Pray! Pray! For these first set of outreaches! We are not only filling bellies with rice but opening up hearts to the gospel in a deep time of suffering!!! We are giving rice and medicine to the Ebola task force to pass out to quarantine households. Pastor told us of a 4 year old boy in our town whose whole family passed away of Ebola except he and his 2 year old brother. The 2 year old died because of the stigma and no one caring for him or touching him. Pastor and us are so burdened for this remaining 4 year old little boy. We prayed and God showed us a way to take care of him. More on that soon. There is even more...but Ill save it for tomorrows update. I could go on forever about the greatness of our God Im seeing right now! I will never understand why God allows us to see up close and personal so much of His heart thru the weak, poor, broken and rejected. I will never understand why God has called us when we are so weak and unqualified. But I will spend every last breath worshipping Him because He has. CHRIST IS ALL!!!!!!!
