UPDATE: January 5 , 2015 Good afternoon family & friends , just a small update , my mom is currently being treated @ EPH for complications surrounding her bedsores she obtained during her stay at Kindred hospital in ABQ . The prognosis is not good . There are too many variables at this point to give you all a full update , we are awaiting test results and are hoping to get her home by the end of the week . The complications we are dealing with at this time are so highly stressful to her and the family , we have limited her to one visitor at time till she gets home . Her anxiety has reached awful proportions , the reality of bedsores for quadrapeligics is a grim one if not treated properly . And since Kindred the doctors have not been successful with getting them under control. Her insurance wont cover her wound supplies , they dont feel she needs them changed more than once a week , when in reality it has to be done at least twice a day , these dressings are not cheap , she has been having to cover the cost of her own supplies to try and keep up with her own wound care . We as a family have been trying to compensate but it is falling apart , the well is dry and we have no more resources to continue at that pace right now . So we are brainstorming as we speak to find a solution to this problem . She is fighting for her life right now with this bedsore issue and Ive tried to maintain her reality but with recent complications and costs and her own income cut....its falling apart . I am not updating to ask for help , because in good conscience can no longer ask anybody for help , I was doing to let know her reality at this time . Please keep us in your prayers at this time , we need it now more than ever . Leave messages here for her and ill make sure she gets them or leave her messages at her home number . Thank you all for all the help and support youve given my mom during this ordeal we would have never made it this far without the TeamPedro Universe .
