UPDATE: March 27, 2014 Well I took my shopping cart back to K-Mart; but as the cart did not belong to K-Mart, they would not give me a letter that said that they owned it and that I could have it; nor would they give me a letter to say that the cart did not belong to them. However, as I was left waiting, passing time with the young lady at the Customer Service Desk, she happened to mention that it looked like a Pathmark Cart. Since Pathmark shares a parking lot with K-Mart, I got the Corporate Phone Number for K-Mart and went on my way next door. Sure enough, it was actually a Pathmark Shopping Cart. I went to the Service Desk and explained the situation – then the lady there called the office; then gave me instructions to proceed to the office at the end of the registers. I met with the Manager, explained the whole story of how I had found the cart on the street – even produced my Citation, Complaint #23426; Dist 24; Sector 3; year 14. The Manager at Pathmark read the citation and then signed and dated it. I also then informed him that normally I get my carts right from the scrap yard at Trenton & Somerset Street – usually there are 3 to 5 carts floating around and they let us take them. He told me to take the citation back to the service desk and have the girl stamp it with the Store Stamp. Word to the Wise: we have to take control of the Recycle-Rewards Program and the trucks allotted. We must separate our metals and give 90% back to the residents and businesses. Oh, and “if” some cart person tell’s you that the stores know that we have the carts and that we are also shoppers – don’t believe them. The stores want their carts back to keep costs down (and they are only left about as snares for the good folks trying to live without receiving Welfare). Report Ended – Head’s-Up.
