UPDATE ON BABY EDDIE: I am officially hospitalized, on strict bedrest, at 32 weeks. Baby is strong as ever, but we have an acute chronic abruption- which means my placenta has started to tear away from my uterus, which in turn causes incessant bleeding. We were admitted to St. Vincents here in Portland Friday bright and early. I cannot leave until the bleeding stops, and if I get to go home, it is with severe restrictions. In an ideal world, my bleeding stops, I can go home, Baby stays in there until we go into labor naturally somewhere around the 26th of December. In a not so ideal world, the bleeding continues, and we get to stay in the hospital for the duration of my pregnancy, or until Baby shows signs of fetal distress, and they deliver him via cesarean. I have been bleeding since Oct 20th, but it has been light enough that my OB has continued to see me once weekly, and has had no diagnosis. However, on the 31st, I lost well over 500 ccs (about a pint, or the equivalent of a vaginal birth), and I was ambulanced from Willamette Falls in Oregon City to St. Vincents here in Portland.
