UPDATE ON DAD: Wanting to give my frazzled Mom a rest, I went back to the hospital this morning to weak to the doctor to find out what procedure Dad was supposed to be prepping for (Dad is not always very coherent). To my surprise and no small amount of consternation, the doctor wasnt there and Dad had already been given some food, meaning that whatever procedure he was asked to fast for was either already done or rescheduled. Turns out that what Dad was being prepped for was bypass surgery (as opposed to a pacemaker as he mistakenly informed us. Unfortunately, in order to be cleared for surgery the doctor had tp examine the film of a procedure Dad had gotten months ago (so no time would be wasted repeating it). The hospital that had the film was supposed to have messengered the film yesterday, but didnt. So I got a consent form signed and I drove to the other hospital and back with Dads recordsand pictures in hand. Now, unless theres anything amiss in his tests, hell be undergoing bypass surgery tomorrow. Im in Lauderhill right now getting ready for my signing at Tates Comics and then I drive home for a little rest before I attend the final stop of my SIRENS 1 Tour at the Coliseum Sanford store. Mom will get another day of rest and Dad will finally get the treatment he needs. We know that well have to search for some trained home care nurse to take care of Dad, post-op, but for nowm were all just taking a few seep breaths to recharge.
