UPDATE ON GEOFFRY LINO. FFNT Media Release Darwin 1st October 2013 Football Federation Northern Territory (FFNT) would like to congratulate Geoffry Lino for all of his effort and commitment to secure a National Youth League (NYL) contract today with Adelaide United Football Club (AUFC), which was signed today. Geoffry played in the Men’s Division 1 competition throughout the 2013 Norzone season, with the NTC U18 development squad. When FFNT was contacted by Glenn Elliott, Chief Executive Officer and Michael Petrillo, Director of Football at AUFC, in late August, we were more than happy to provide Geoffry with a glowing reference. After a number of emails backwards and forwards and a meeting with Geoffry and his mother to explain the NYL/A-League recruitment process and the opportunity to move to the next level, a suitable time was agreed for Geoffry to travel down to Adelaide to train with Adelide’s NYL squad. What started as an initial 1 week opportunity, quickly turned into 2 weeks before Geoffry was offered by AUFC to relocate to Adelaide and continue training with them, to try and break into their NYL squad. Within 2 weeks of being back down in Adelaide, Geoffry has quickly secured himself a NYL contract for the upcoming 2013/14 season which commences later this month. This means that week in and week out throughout the 2013/14 NYL season Geoffry will be training and vying to be named within the AUFC NYL playing squad each week. If successful, Geoffry will gain valuable experience travelling around Australia to play against some of the best Australian U21 players, as well as contracted A-League players. What a wonderful development and lifestyle opportunity for a young player that up until six weeks ago was still training and playing within our local Darwin NorZone competition! youtube/watch?v=XZb7ZTk_oi8&list=PL7E3B084A97F6DDC8
