UPDATE ON KATIE: She got 2 chest tubes and her femoral artery line out. She didnt get to walk today but maybe tomorrow because she still has her swan catheter in. Hopefully shell get that out tomorrow. She got to hang her legs over the edge of the bed and then she got to stand. She did toe ups, squats and then got to walk to a recliner chair and sit in that for a couple of hours. She even took a little snooze while she sat in the chair. Katie told us tonight that it felt wonderful. She has started to eat real food but really isnt impressed with hospital food. She said the fish was really dry and they didnt cook it in the herbs that she asked them too....they just poured it on top. The green beans were too crunchy and she couldnt swallow them. So she had yogurt and that was good and also felt good on her throat. She said she was going to get into the chips that were in her room later. Not going to happen but I think she wishes. Had a really nice visit! Just love her attitude - she wants to run the halls and its been just a little over 2 days since her surgery! Thanks again for all your prayers.
