UPDATE ON OSUN APC GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY; ELECTION HELD AT 332 WARDS SUCCESSFUL ================ All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state of Osun, on Saturday April 12, 2014, conducted its gubernatorial primary, with party members seeing at different ward centers, to participate in the voting exercise with their membership cards. Bioreports correspondent who monitors the exercise at the ward level gathered that the exercise was peaceful at each center across the 332 wards in the state. One of the delegates at Eripa Boluwaduro Local government, Comrade Afeez Lawal, in an interview with Boreports at the First Baptist Primary School, Eripa, said that the exercise recorded massive turnout of party members. Lawal said over 200 electorates cast their votes at ward 7, located at First Baptist Primary School, Eripa, saying that the exercise which was void of rancor started at exactly 8:15 and ended around 10:05am. Further visit to the state capital in Osogbo recorded massive crowd of members exercising their civic responsibility. Mr Olawole Idowu, one of the APC leader at ward 10, while fielding questions from newsmen said about 356 party members casted their votes at Aresa Street, Ikolaba in Osogbo, to pulsate support for the incumbent governor, who according to him, had done a lot for the people of the state. Idowu, however, urged all APC members across the state to behaved themselves and ensure that their votes count. It would be recalled that the APC through its Publicity Secretary, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi had on Tuesday disclosed that officials from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja had arrived Osun to ensure that the primary process is democratic as stipulated by the Electoral Law for the exercise. The result of the primary exercise which had been conducted between 8-10 am today Saturday would be collated at the local government headquarters between 12-2pm, while the final collation and endorsement of the candidate would be made at the popular Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo between 3-6 pm.
