~ UPDATE ~ Thank you for every prayer that was said on my behalf!!. I have officially been diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. It is an aggressive cancer but can be treated & cured. The results of my scans are in……chest X-ray - negative; bone scan - normal; CT scan - ?cyst seen in my lower left side; breast MRI - suspicious area seen in my right breast. Overall not a bad report at all!! PTL. I have elected to have the right breast biopsied just to be on the safe side. There are many different types of breast cancer & not all respond to the same kind of treatment, so to ease my mind, we are just going to find out. We got a treatment plan in place so I feel a lot better. I will do 4 cycles of Adriamycin/Carboplatin every 2 weeks then go to weekly Taxol treatments for a combined total of 20 week of chemo. Next Thursday Im going to have a media-port placed (and let me tell you, I have asked every patient that I care for & has one, if I have ever been too rough when performing monthly port care. Whew, thank goodness, they all said NO). Friday I will have my 1st chemo treatment then go back the following Monday for a Neulasta injection & MR biopsy of the suspicious area in my right breast. Geez that sounds like a lot when I type it all out. God is good & I know He walks with me, so hand in hand He will guide me through this journey (along with all of your prayers). So ladies, get those mammograms & if YOU feel anything funny in YOUR breast dont hesitate, get it checked, biopsied, whatever it takes. Better to get stuck with a needle & know for sure, than put it off & get stuck 6ft under!!! Much love to you all, God Bless!!!! Will keep you updated on the progress.
