UPDATE: The Morgan City Police Department would again like to thank those emergency workers who responded to the crash scene to help those injured which included one of our officers, Sgt. Janada Anslum. It is hard to identify each agency due to the circumstances but it proves how fortunate we are to have those of you who choose to work and serve to protect others. It also proves that we live in a special place with bystanders and citizens who grabbed boards and anything within reach to come to an officers aid and help rescue a fellow human being. Sgt. Janada Anslum was transported to a New Orleans Hospital from Thibodaux General Hospital where she remains stable with non-life threatening injuries. Her injuries range from cuts to fractures but she is expected to make a full recovery. Sgt. Anslum is aware of the support, prayers and thoughts that have been sent her way. She remains in good spirits with her family and friends by her side. The Louisiana State Police is in charge of the crash investigation involving our officer, therefore we shall refrain from commenting on the details of that investigation and the identity of the other driver involved only to confirm that the Morgan City Police Department is grateful that no one involved in the accident perished. We wish all involved, including family members a quick and speedy recovery. The thoughts, prayers and well wishes are many. Out of respect for those involved, including our own Sgt. Anslum along with their families we ask that any questions, well wishes, cards, etc. be directed to the Morgan City Police Department @985-380-4605. Captain James F.
