UPDATE Tue Apr 22/14 1015amET Happy Earth Day, fellow earthlings!! Much improved across Martinique over the last 24 hours with a drying trend. But overnight deluges hit the island of Dominica, dropping 24 mm of rain at Melville Hall Airport and 30 mm at Canefield Airport. Other light showers were moving across the Leeward Islands, 2mm of rain fell at LeRaizet Guadeloupe and 3mm at VC Bird Antigua. Radar indicates some light showers traversing east to west across the Northern Leeward Islands this morning. Other low level clouds with some showers were just outside of radar range but occurring east of Trinidad and Tobago. Other than that, E to ESE wind flow across the chain, brisker across the Windward Islands as is the usual case. An area of LOW pressure was passing west of Bermuda but creating brisk WSW to SW winds across that island but only 2 mm of rain fell at the international airport. That low pressure had an attendant front attached to it but will remain well north of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands and not have any direct effect on the Eastern regions of the Caribbean.
