UPDATE, UPDATE....read all about it! Bennett is showing signs of getting better. His white blood cells have dropped 3 days in a row, first time in 2.5 weeks. They never found an infection from ANY of the tests they ran. Its a mystery to what made him so sick. (Hopefully its in the past) His swelling has significantly dropped as well. His feedings have been started back up and hes on 15ml/3hr. He finds his pacifier very soothing and loves it when the nurses/mom put drops of milk in his mouth. He weighs 4#9oz (this is pretty accurate as his swelling has significantly been reduced) and his air is down to 1.5L of flow and is on room air (no added O2). Colton is weighing in at a whopping 4#13oz. His isolette has been turned down to room air and hes maintaining his temp on his own. He is down to just .5L flow of air (comparable to a small fan blowing on your face) just to assist. He hasnt needed any extra O2 for nearly a week. Hes getting 40ml/3hr of milk and taking 1-2 bottles a day. He might go to go to transition this week where mom and dad take the reins and make sure hes safe to bring home (this could be weeks in the little hospital room with him 24hr/day. Colton has even moved to newborn clothes because the premie ones are too small! Mom and dad are working on getting healthy themselves as we are passing a cold back and forth. There are periods where we can see them for a few days a time because we cant get them sick, this is very hard.
