UPDATE: We have taken a few steps back due to miscommunications (or better yet, lack of) with doctors. We were told the biopsy of the nodule located in Jeremiahs chest cavity would take place yesterday. Yesterday turned out to be only a consultation. While there, we expressed our concern about whether or not were even in the right place with Jeremiahs ultra rare cancer. His current oncologist has been very vague in answering relatively simple questions (ie how many adrenal {ACC} cancer patients have you treated, etc.). Come to find out that while he is highly sought after, ACC is uncharted territory for him. (WHY couldnt he just say that!?!) Most oncologists *might* only see 1-2 ACC cases throughout their entire career, if any at all. Luckily, we found a doctor in the general Pittsburgh area who HAS and DOES - but his next availability isnt until October 30th. We DO NOT have time to waste. After a few calls with some help, we have two different doctors trying to PUSH for Jeremiah to be seen before then. PLEASE keep your fingers crossed he gets in. If not, we are looking into two different cancer treatment centers - BOTH who specialize with adrenal cancer - one being in Maryland, the other in Michigan. SO much to take in, SO little time. So where are we at now? We know for certain his chest nodule biopsy will take place October 8th at Shadyside UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh. His follow up appointment for those results is scheduled for October 20th. Hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait. Blah. On a positive note, Jeremiah feels good. Aside from all the appointments added to our already insanely busy schedule.. hes living and enjoying life as he always has. His heart is full and spirits are high!
