UPDATE: Well, the news wasnt terrible, but it wasnt great either. Quite honestly, we dont know what to make of the news yet. I met with Dr. Manny, my surgical oncologist, and he confirmed that I now have numerous mets (cancer) on my liver, and he indicated that it was not surgically possible to remove them. He said that if I can no longer use the bathroom due to blockage, he can easily put in a colostomy. Fortunately, that is not a problem. But as for the the mets on my liver, it is up to my chemo oncologist, whom I will meet with on Monday morning. The worst case scenario is she says there are too many mets, and chemo will do me no good at this point. Best case scenario is she will put me on a new (and likely aggressive) chemo regimen to kill the new mets. Of course, we are all hoping (and I am PRAYING) for the best case scenario. Regardless, I will NOT stop fighting...I have way too much to live for! We are looking into other options (including the Cancer Treatment Centers of America), in the event that the worse case scenario happens on Monday (which I dont think it will). Of course, I still have my non-traditional treatment options, but they are going to get expensive...FAST, so we are trying to figure out what to do there. So, my dear friends, I please ask that you continue to boldly pray, send healing thoughts, etc., as I still very strongly believe that God isnt finished with me here yet. I may have mets on my liver and my lungs and tumors in my abdomen, but the good news is I am feeling better every day...the pain and nausea are dissipating, and my appetite is finally returning (I have lost 40 pounds!). One of my New Years resolutions will be to get out and enjoy life more, make positive changes in my life, and continue to be strong and fight this cancer to its death! I love each and every one of you, and I cannot begin to tell you how blessed I am to have you in my life...
