UPDATE on Erin : Since Erins surgery she has improved remarkably in the movements to her left side body. I have to admit I was even impressed by her improvements in such a short period of time. When we left the hospital, she could only lift her left arm half way up and was only slightly able to touch her finger tips together. When I seen her 5 days later, she was able to lift her arm above her head and touched her finger tips together in fast pace movements. Although she still has a ways to go and still neglects that left arm, it is an significant improvement in the right direction. Erins left leg has gotten a little worse with a limp but with therapy she should regain it back hopefully quickly. Erin will continue with occupational, physical and speech therapy. She was able to set goals as to where she wants to be at when finished. Things such as fine motor skills, being active again and being able to care for herself fully on her own. Yesterday Erin finally was able to see the eye specialist in Rochester. Good news! Her vision can be corrected with glasses or contacts. This was a huge relief that she is able to get this fixed and that it was not permanent. In the meantime, Erin will continue to work hard in therapy so she can start to get her normal life back again. With not being pregnant anymore, she is able to strive for more intense therapy sessions. There is nothing stronger then your own will to keep going and pushing forward. Nothing can stop you now! Im very excited about the new year and I know it will bring many good things for you to come Erin. The road to recovery is going to be long but only you know what the word strength and strong truely mean.
