UPDATE on Erin : We arrived at the hospital bright and early this morning at 5:45am. We got to the prep room around 6:10am where they got Erin all gowned up and ready for surgery. We were all able to sit around and chat with Erin after this. Boy was she sure a chatter box that was full of energy and made it easy on all of us. She was cracking jokes and singing and even dancing a little. One of the doctors stopped by and explained some more details of the procedures that would take place. He stated that if everything went as planned, then when Erin got back to the recovery room that she would not have the breathing tube, restraints, or drainage tubes as her previous surgery when she had the flap removed. This was calming news for Erin to hear. As of now, Erin was taken down to the surgery room to get prepped for the rest of the surgery. They anticipated that the surgery would start around 845am...so right about now. They have a tv screen in the waiting room that tells us what the progress is on Erin which is nice for us to see. The surgery should take 4 to 5 hours. For now we are all waiting patiently and praying for her to have a good surgery and recovery. More to come later. Please continue the prayers for the surgeons and for Erin.
