UPDATE on Mom: After speaking with Moms team of pulmonologists, we have decided that an airway stent is the best option for her. The breathing tube needs to be removed. The risk associated with airway stent placement for Mom is higher than usual due to the possibility of airway collapse among other issues that could result from the two masses (cancerous lymph nodes)...and, of course, all the normal risks involved with stent placement are also possibilities. The procedure to insert the stent and remove the breathing tube is scheduled for 12:00 EST. It will be done under general anesthesia. Prayers in abundance are appreciated much more than you know!
