UPDATE: (please help) Remember the reader that was recently separated after almost 20 years of marriage? (If not, scroll back to the post I made on Jan. 26) Well, a lot of readers wrote in wanting to provide advice but felt like they needed a few more details. Heres what I found out. Please feel free to offer our reader your advice and words of encouragement. As you can imagine this is a very difficult subject to talk about, but it was me who reached out to her in hopes that I could share it with Yall so that we can give her some love and strength. Here is what she wrote: I just started reading some of these replies... very over whelming (in a good way)... We live in Wisconsin. As far as accounts and what not, he already cancelled them. Same day he walked out, literally...closed all joint checking, savings, even our feed mill, and electric accounts. How i found out all was cancelled was when my lights were shutoff. Knowing we werent late on bill. This was all mentioned in court as well... we had a temporary hearing. Judge is actually in acceptance of his actions PER his lawyers recommendations. As his name was on accounts and his lawyer told him to cancel everything. Judge said closing all accounts was fine, although he should of told me he was doing so. My local feed mill has been great, and let me open a new account to.charge farm animal feed, but even that is difficult as not sure how i will pay it off. As for state/government aide.... I had applied (never been on any before now), anyway because of us still being married I can NOT get state/government aide. They know he is living outside our home, but were technically still married, so they still look at his income (or projected income). Judge had NO support ordered at this time, as his lawyer said its not right for him to pay support on kids who do not want to see him. They really dont at this time either, maybe later they will. As for our vehicle, it is registered in both our names, I did call police on the vehicle and because WI is a 50/50 state he is entitled to take the car and nothing they will do about it. Yes, I totally agree he has abandoned us, me, our kids...everyone else too, except him, his lawyer and maybe a few of his friends. I know a job is essential, living out in the middle of nowhere is a bit of an issue... we dont live on the edge of town... we literally live 24 miles one way from the school my children attend. (Thank goodness for school buses..lol). The closest town with a population OVER 500 people is 35 miles ONE WAY... when i say we live in the sticks, i really mean it. This is our dream place....nothing fancy, dont even.have modern amenities out hear...it is an old old old farm house (early 1800s), 60 plus acres of farm land, woods and a barn...lol I have loved following your page for sometime now and all these wonderful responses just reassures another reason why.. thank you again.
