UPDATE – Hamilton’s First Homicide 2015 The Hamilton Police Service Homicide Unit is continuing their investigation into Hamilton’s first homicide of 2015. The victim has been identified as 20 year old Nathan Miller of Toronto. A Post Mortem Examination has determined that he died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators have determined that at approximately 9:42 p.m. on January 8, 2015, five males were allowed access to the residence at 28 Madison Avenue. Upon entry, one of the males produced a firearm and commenced to shoot the victim. The males then fled the residence. The suspect who fired the shots has been described as a male, black, 25- 30 years of age, stalky build, approximately 6’0” tall, and wearing a black jacket. The males who accompanied him are described as: Suspect #2: Male, black, 5’1”, 18-25 years, with his hair in braids. Suspect #3: Male, black, light skinned, 6’5” tall. Suspect #4: Male, black, light skinned, 6’5” tall, with acne on face Suspect #5: Male, short in stature wearing a hoodie. BACKGROUND On January 8, 2015 at approximately 9:42 p.m., members of the Hamilton Police Service and Emergency Medical Services responded to 28 Madison Avenue, Hamilton, regarding a shooting that had just occurred. A male without vital signs was located within the residence. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. A Post Mortem Examination will be conducted today to determine the cause of death. The victim has been identified; however, his identity will not be released until all family members have been notified. The investigation is in its preliminary stages. It is expected that further information regarding this homicide will be released later today.
