UPND WILL NEVER LEARN! So it had to be Dipark Partel to disassociate UPND from the tribal remarks as uttered by Hon Daniel Munkobwe right? So UPND does not have a spokesperson? What about the topmost leaders like HH and Mweetwa. Why did they fold their arms and said nothing about that careless statement by Zambias senior most citizen which was uttered right at the podium of their rally? When the so called Bishop Chomba uttered some useless remarks, we saw how our Guy Scott came out strong against Chomba and even called him Bogus Bishop, PF SG too came out and condemned it. That is what responsible leadership calls for. We are not that forgetful Its been some 9 years ago when a topmost leader in UPND said; we will never allow any person from other tribes to be president in UPND because UPND is for Tongas.... Upto now no leader have come out to apologize to the nation and for people like me it means that the statement was agreed upon by the entire leadership of UPND. That remark saw HH becoming UPND leader on the basis of tribe and not on the basis of capability. We saw Sakwiba resign from the UPND to form another party. That was despite Mazoka (hsrip) having labored so hard to give UPND a national character. The Party was pushed 7 years backwards. Did UPND learn anything from that? No! I can even acurately predict that they never will. Since then, UPND was confined to one province. May be UPND has forgotten, Zambians have not and when elections comes, those words become fresh in our minds. As if that is not enough, Daniel comes with the remark; .....this is the time for Tongas, its been the same tribes all the time.... Capability Not Tribe One thing is true about Zambians. They hate tribalism and they are right. My uncle was posted to shibuyunji as a teacher. Back then other teachers shunned the place and got transfers a year after they were posted at that place but uncle stayed. Today he is in Makombwe and retired. He has vowed to have his remains burried in Makombwe. That is not a Bemba land. Kenneth Kaundas Parents settled in Chinsali, Northern Province as missionaries from Malawi. KK grew up from their, local people supported him and he later ruled this country for 27 years. So Zambians appreciates CAPABILITY and not TRIBE. I personally detest tribalism passionately with the hate that it desrves and am no friends with tribal people. Very few friends in the line of duty are not Bembas, I have attended interviews and got employed in some cases and I can assure you that my interviewers has had at most 2 or simply NO Bemba at all among them. I have been picked because of what interviewers feel I can offer and not on the basis of tribe. If capability and qualification is all that matter for a social worker like me, why would tribe matter for one to be president? Shame! Discard Tribalism I wish UPND would own up and give tribalism the punch it deserves. The way things stands with UPND now is that if he has to win, then one one or two provinces should give him 50+1 percent. Is that possible? No! To be honest its remarks like Munkombwes that makes other tribes feel like if upnd wins, service delivery will be done on the basis of tribe, jobs, bursuries, school enrollment, purchase of maize, loans, and love making will be done on the basis of tribe. I dont want that! Do you?
