UPND WINS SOLWEZI AND KAFULAFUTA, MMD RETAINS CHIPATA Results not yet confirmed by the Electoral Commission of Zambia show that the opposition MMD has retained Chipata Central while the UPND has won Kafulafuta on the Copperbelt and Solwezi East in the Northwestern province. The ruling PF has won Mkushi in Central province. The figures will be confirmed by ECZ later but PF agents and officials ran away from counting centres just after they realised that they have suffered humiliating defeat even after using all sorts rigging tricks. Elated by the victory against he brutal regime of Sata, UPND vice-president Canicius Banda commented that: ‘Taking Zambia Forward (and away from a culture of lies and deception): The UPND penetrates the Copperbelt as it wins Kafulafuta; and also breaks new ground by winning Solwezi East.
