UPSC Alert I am sensing a feeling of unease or upset among a lot - TopicsExpress

UPSC Alert I am sensing a feeling of unease or upset among a lot of our friends. This is about the news of lowering of age limit & also reducing number of attempts for UPSC exams. Previous UPA govt.had increased the age limit & attempts. Perhaps Rahul Gandhi was considering appearing for this exam!!! ( people with deprived & depraved sense of humour, please stay off my FB page ) ARC 2 ( Administrative Reforms Commission ) had recommended so. Govt. Has accepted it. It means age limit for open,OBC & SC/ST friends ( yes,all are friends, must be,irrespective of caste etc. ) is 26,28 & 29 respectively. Number of attempts are 3,5 & 6 resp. That means those who are crossing their respective age limit by August 1,2015 will not be able to give the 2015 attempt. I know that a lot of youngsters are going to find their career plans thrown off gear. A lot of us are going to be deprived of an opportunity. And I miss heartbeats over this. While lowering the age limit is the right step in principle,it needs to be applied with due consideration,so that no injustice is done. Govt.should give an advance intimation of at least two years. I wonder whether this sudden step & its application with immediate effect might be challenged constitutionally. THOSE WHO ARE PREPARING FOR PRELIMS SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 23,2015 MUST CONTINUE THEIR PREPARATION. IT IS A TOUGH TEST OF YOUR MENTAL CAPACITIES & RESILIENCE. No decisions are final till they are notified. And even then, such decisions are not irrevocable. ESP THOSE CROSSING THE NEW AGE LIMIT BY AUGUST 1,2015 MUST CONTINUE STUDIES NO MATTER WHAT. As always,I reiterate my firm understanding, that no knowledge ever goes waste. Theres no change in the overall exam pattern. That means CSAT continues for prelims,in spite of misdirected anti-CSAT agitation in Delhi. Optional too continues for mains. My best wishes for everybody, forever
