UQ Law School Research Seminar Series Topic: From Rwanda to The Hague, via Cambodia: a comparative look at three international criminal justice responses Presenter: Clair Duffy - Barrister and International Legal Consultant Venue: Sir Samuel Griffith Room, 1-W341, Forgan Smith Building Time: Fri, 10 October : 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm This presentation looks at three international criminal justice responses – the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (established pursuant to UN Security Council resolution); the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (established pursuant to agreement between the UN and the Royal Government of Cambodia); and the International Criminal Court (a treaty-based judicial institution in relationship with the United Nations Security Council)) – and explores how the political acts establishing these institutions has played out within prosecutorial and judicial decision-making.
