Many of you know I am part of a group who has been advocating for Puppy Mill reform in the U.S. We just helped get an ordinance passed in Oceanside that will ban the sale of retail puppy stores who obtain their puppies from the abusive puppy mill industry. This ban is set to begin January 7th. Oceanside will be the 18th city in California and 73rd NATIONWIDE to enact such a ban. It is sorely needed!! Now the deep pocketed puppy mills and their lobbying force are out to influence the Oceanside City Council members. We need your voice to reinforce to the council that they ARE making the correct and humane choice. Thank you in advance for your support! xo Dear Council member, Please uphold your vote and pass an ordinance banning the retail sale of dogs from USDA regulated/licensed breeders. These breeding facilities are highly UNDER-regulated and nothing more than abusive puppy mills where profit is placed above the welfare of the animals. This is a health, safety and economic tragedy and an embarrassment for Oceanside. In order for a consumer to make an informed choice, they must be told the truth. Mr. Salinas, the owner of Oceanside Puppy, is not being honest when he tells customers his puppies are not from these inhumane puppy mills. This has been proven. The residents of Oceanside do not want a store selling abused pets in our city! We ask you to listen to the public and vote to ban these types of stores. Thank you,
