URGENT GEORGE MUNICIPALITY UPDATE: Thursday, 3rd July, 15h40 The George Municipality, Civil Engineering Directorate is urgently requesting that residents in Wilderness, and particularly Wilderness Heights and Hoekwil and Touwsranten are please use water sparingly. A pipe burst has occurred on the main water pipeline that crosses the Kaaimans River and repairs to this pipeline are more complex than that for a regular pipeburst. This water supply pipeline supplements the feed from the Wilderness Water Treatment Works that provides drinking water to Wilderness, Hoekwil and Touwsranten, Wilderness Heights and Kleinkrantz. Without this supplementary feed certain areas may run out of water. The George Municipality is doing everything possible to remedy the situation and the public will be informed of progress. If residents work together and reduce consumption it is unlikely that any of the residents will be without water altogether. George Municipality wishes to thank all residents in advance for the co-operation and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience.
