URGENT HIGHWAY CLOSURE - Location Update and Information Lac La Biche RCMP advise that Highway 55 West of Lac La Biche is closed due to a serious collision. The location is approx. 16k west of Lac La Biche between Range Road 150 and Range Road 152. Police and emergency crews are asking all motorists to avoid this area. RCMP advise that the highway is closed till further notice. Early investigations show that a fuel truck and pick up truck collided head on. A 59 year old driver of the fuel truck suffered injuries as did the 28 year old male driver and a 21 year old female passenger of the pick up. The 28 year old male is presently being airlifted and both him and the female passenger have sustained serious injuries. Quick thinking and a response by bystanders saved the lives of the injured as they used fire extinguishers to help put out the engulfed vehicles. Police are still investigating this collision and the highway remains closed. Cst. Chris CLARK Lac La Biche RCMP
