URGENT HOUSE ANNOUNCEMENT: As HOUSE has become more successful we have been inundated with dozens of anonymous noise and food complaints. One month ago members of the downtown nightclub group MEDA , addressed what they could do to prevent HOUSE from continuing into season. The President of MEDA , Michael Slyder has aggressively and blatantly targeted HOUSE even prior to our opening, reaching out to city officials, and zoning, in a failed attempt to block our existence. This President also happens to be the co-owner of a nightclub called MEKKA (aka Discotekka). He has consistently abused his position, political relationships, and what equates to a private downtown police force, to target WYNWOOD in general, and HOUSE. The other source of complaints stem from a small religious group that felt (even prior to opening) that HOUSE was immoral, dark, evil, and sinful catering to a gay clientele. HOUSE is for EVERYONE, and because I happen to be gay, or a percentage of our guests are is irrelevant. The LGBTQ community has supported me for 10+ years from Art Bar, to Ka, to UMI, to Living Room, and now HOUSE. You are my backbone, your loyalty is unquestionable, you bring billions of dollars to the city of Miami, and they should be privileged to have you. I respect all religious viewpoints and personal opinions, but who we are or love, is nobodys business, and not to be used as a target to close a business in 2014. HOUSE has been asked to go in front of a commission hearing board to defend itself on Thursday Oct 9th at 9AM. We have been asked to do this with no citations or tickets whatsoever. Let them know if you believe that HOUSE is an asset or liability to the city of Miami.
