URGENT, LOS ANGELES: BABY BUNNY WITH A BROKEN LEG NEEDS FOSTER HOME AND FUNDING FOR X-RAYS AND POTENTIAL AMPUTATION SURGERY. PLEASE DON’T LEAVE A COMMENT HERE IF YOU CAN HELP, E-MAIL US INSTEAD WITH YOUR CONTACT INFO AND THE BEST TIME TO REACH YOU! This is the message we received: The rabbit was abandoned at the Lakewood equestrian center. I found him in a puddle in the rain he is about 4-6 months old and has a compound fracture in his left hind leg. Theres no visible bleeding from the wound but it obviously has no chance of healing on its own. I dont have the funds to get the leg treated myself...THE BONE IS STICKING OUT OF THE LEG so there is definite injury the vet said it looks like its about two weeks or more old so hes probably learned to cope with it. But there is swelling in the upper leg and some starting around the wound so I am worried about infection This is a complex case. The person who found the bunny didnt have $200 for x-rays, and the vet quoted between 1 - 1.5k for the possible leg amputation. BWF owes $6k in vet bills. We are in no position to fund this. If you would like to help, please make a donation via PayPal at bunnyworldfoundation.org/donate/, or to ANY of the three vets listed directly. We will post the estimate in the comment below. *All Pets Medical Center (818) 883-2600. ($420 owed) **Exotic Animal Care Center (626) 405-1777 ($300 owed) ***Northwood Animal Hospital (949) 559-1992 ($5,000 owed, they only accept $100+ donations) This bunny needs both a sponsor and a foster who is ready to possibly care for a three-legged bunny. The baby is not even on pain meds and antibiotics... IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELP? Thank you! ~BWF
