Barely weeks into his new job, the new Chief of Jimara, Foday Yusupha Jawara is about set fire on Jimara. The buddy of former Chief Haggie Kule Camara is bent on carrying out their long-running sinister plan of taking over the village of Sotuma Sere at all costs. As the people were busy clearing their land for the impending farming season and the V 2016 food self-sufficiency programme, the Chief gave an extra judicial order for them to STOP working on their own farmland! It can be recalled that former Chief Hagie Kunle Camara dragged his feet over the dispute on the ancestral land of Sotuma Sere until things got out of hand. The former URR Governor Omar Khan arrested Sotuma Sere youths who protested the land grabbing and bribery of local politicians. Now the new Jimara chief who is notorious for abusing his authority in the District Tribunal sees Sotuma Sere as his first battle field. He summoned the villagers for a trial on 05 June 2014 with claims that neighbouring villagers some of whom are known for bribing officials, complained to him.
