URGENT REQUEST As many of you know, this past week we lost a Firefighter in a house Fire. Firefighter Brad McCoy age 36 of the Nantahala Fire Dept. in Macon County experienced a fire in his own home. While attempting to rescue family he didnt make it out of the fire. Chief Rick Wood and I traveled to Macon County on behalf of the NCFFF ( North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation ) to assist the Fire Dept. as well as the McCoy family. This family lost a Husband and father of 2 small children. They lost all personnel property from the fire and had NO insurance. The mother has some injuries as well as the 9 year old daughter. They are both in the Burn Center in Agusta Ga. Mom is getting better and may be released soon. The daughter has serious 2nd and 3rd degree burns. She was in Surgery most of the day Saturday. Even though I have been a part of this for 39 years, this is a hard one to see. While we stood at the fire scene with the Chiefs of the dept. and heard what happened. My heart is very heavy with concern about Daphney( the daughter) To hear what she experienced and knowing what she is going through now. I Am asking ALL PRAYER WARRIORS to PLEASE lift this family in your prayers. I understand personal items are not important , please understand THEY LOST ALL. as well as this Family HERO. The members of the dept. are hurting as well. They lost a Brother and HERO as well. Please pray hard and often for this situation. Looks like the service for Firefighter McCoy will be next weekend. We will be with these folks then and for the rest of there life. I just Hurt in my heart for them and this little girl. Anyone who knows me, knows that Kids are my Heart. Just help me to pray pray pray for this situation.
