URGENT SAFETY ISSUE mandatory read. ALL ENROLLED PARENTS Like this after reading so I know who I need to address in person (those who have not read it) 1. Parents are responsible for their children before they come into the school- and as soon as they pick up. 2. Parents may NOT stand around and chat inside school or our gate at pick up or drop off unless scheduled for a conference. It congests the area creating a safety issue. 3. If your children are not mindfully standing with you - please dont wait ask teachers about their day while allowing they wander off or speak with other parents. Mind them and email us your questions- we love giving feedback but not at expense of our childrens safety. Today we had near horrific accident. Two moms were chatting with another after school in the main building. One set of children was not being monitored by the parent. This set of siblings decided to walk themselves to their car- alone- the older sibling let the younger one out the gate. The older sibling proceeded to walk into the road in front of a speeding car. A quick acting parent lifted him out of the way and back to the sidewalk. I waited with the students outside so the parent is informed. Drop off and pick up times are not times to socialize with fellow parents. It puts our students at risk. Based on this experience today- I will be amending the patent contract to clearly state parents may not hang out at pick up and are responsible for their children before drop off and after pick up.
