URGENT | The Religious Leaderships Full Statement Regarding the Ruling of the Saudi Regime in the Case of Ayatollah Nimr Baqir al-Nimr🔻 #WeAreAllNimr Grand Ayatollah Sayed Muhammad Taqi al-Modarresi speaks out in defense of the most senior Shia leader in Saudi Arabia who was sentenced to death by the brutal and sectarian Saudi regime: In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, the Destroyer of Tyrants, and the Master over the Oppressors, and Peace and Blessings on the Prophet of Mercy, the Leader of the Revolutionaries, the Chosen One, Prophet Muhammad and his Holy Household. We have received, with deep sorrow, the oppressive verdict that has been issued by ignorant judges in the case of the Eminent Jurist, Ayatollah Nimr Baqir al-Nimr, a verdict founded on ludicrous falsehoods at a court which lacks any trace of integrity and justice. Such an incendiary verdict can throw this country into the abyss, since it is precisely such actions which have submerged our region under an ocean of blood and it is such inflammatory gestures which have produced sectarian tensions capable of disintegrating the nations security. Shiekh al-Nimr is, indeed, a respected religious symbol and a great reformer. Directing such terrorizing and baseless accusation at him, then proceeding to issue this verdict is a violation of every pristine divinely-inspired value. The judges who presided over this case have, thus, ignored all Islamic instructions which mandate respecting knowledge and virtue. In doing so, these judges have trampled upon the interests of the nation and have jeopardized civil peace and harmony. Ayatollah al-Nimr has safeguarded the country from bloodshed by famously declaring The roar of the Word is stronger than the whizzing of the bullet but instead of honoring this distinguished reformer, those benighted jurors resorted to cheap and baseless allegations in reaching a verdict as if they do not live in this world! Do they not know what happens to the oppressors? Have they never heard the Quranic verse: And the oppressors shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back? We condemn the travesty to which holy symbols as well as scholars are subjected, regardless of which faith they subscribe to, and pray that Allah helps our people confront this verdict in utmost wisdom and protect us from Takfiris and those who inflame sectarian conflict.
