URGENT UPDATE (3/25/2014) Today we learned via imaging that the tumor has grown 10cm (4 inches) in under two weeks. The tumor is considered inoperable here in Reno and there are few specialty surgeons in the country who have any experience with this. Today the chemo oncologist said that chemo is not likely to be effective at this point (as this type of tumor is resistant to chemo and she is attempting a protocol that has no published trials), and we need to get Debbie to a SPECIALTY surgeon immediately, as a last resort, before the tumor grows any further, and makes this already highly risky surgery worse or impossible. Radiation is not an option due to the size of the tumor.
