(I mean all of Balla - untill test results come Friday ) Quinlivan Calls for Urgent Investigation of Ballananty Water Pipes 23 JULY 2014 Councillor Maurice Quinlivan this afternoon called for an urgent investigation of the water pipe infrastructure in the Ballananty area following the revelation that Irish Water has written to a resident cautioning him to not drink the water advice as a result of too much lead in his house pipes. I want to know if Irish Water have tested all of the dwellings in the area. It seems incredibly unlikely that just one residence should suffer from this very serious problem. If other houses have not been tested then I am calling on Irish Water to carry out these tests and inform residents of the results without delay.” This development may constitute a very real risk to the health of residents of Ballananty. It also highlights the madness of Irish Water spending upwards of a billion Euros installing water meters, rather than investing that money in replacing old and dangerous lead piping throughout the State.”
