US 52 to be closed for emergency repairs. BROOKVILLE, Ind.—The Indiana Department of Transportation will close U.S. Highway 52 in Franklin County to all traffic between Brookville and Cedar Grove tomorrow afternoon (APRIL 2) in an emergency measure responding to rapid destabilization of a roadside slope. Officials anticipate that the closure will continue for a number of weeks until slide repairs can be made. An official detour routes traffic east of the closure along Interstate 74 to State Road 3 at Greensburg, north to S.R. 244 at Milroy, then east to U.S. 52 and east to Brookville. From Brookville, the reverse route via S.R. 244, S.R. 3 and I-74 should be used by through-traffic.
