US Department of Veterans Affairs - Omaha - Detective This position is located in the Police Service. -Investigates complaints and leads, including obtaining physical evidence by collecting, preserving, identifying and tagging; photographing crime scenes; making sketches; and locating and lifting latent fingerprints for later comparison tests. -Makes crime scene assessments and arrests or directs the arrest of persons who have violated the U.S. Criminal Code. -Cooperate and work with other federal and local law enforcement personnel involved in the investigation and disposition of major crimes. -Prepare sworn official statements, affidavits, and in-depth reports for investigations. -Reviews court cases, statutes, and laws to insure there is no violation of constitutional rights. -Evaluate crime prevention programs to recommend changes for utilizing acquired law enforcement applications.
