US Open adventure - cars, trains, and bus - drove halfway to Philly and took train in to main line. Waited out rain delay and then got to see Merion. Train is way to go with rain and lack of parking at least from Amish country. Paoli/Thorndale rail line and get off at Rosemount - shuttle in. Lee Trevino said I love Merion and I do not even know her last name - ha, ha - but I agree with him. Nice to see this course providing a challenge. Played it in 1992 state mid am at 6500 yards. For US Open they added 400 yards. at 6900 it is hard par 70. Players are lucky it is soft or they might shoot 85. Most unique walk - Dustin Johnson - has the John Elway strut. People joking if he spent as much effort on his golf game as he does on perfecting the swagger strut he would be better. Should be a good tournament. Go Philly - Mother Nature is a challenge but Merion is ready.
